Malir Development Authority was established in 1993 by the Government of Sindh in order to develop the area being neglected in the past. Malir Development Authority is Presently working on three Schemes especially focus to cater to ever-increasing housing needs as well as socio-economic conditions of the masses in a professional manner.
MDA is especially focusing its energies towards low-cost housing and design its schemes to give better residential facilities at affordable rates. At present around 125,000 scheduled residential plots are in different stages of development.
MDA Schemes planning envisages to rebate the residential plots on economical rates and disposed of all commercial sites by open public auction on Market price to not only cater the development expenditure as well as planned the spaces for Commercial/Economic activities, therefore a large number of commercial sites of different categories of plots for flats besides some categories are reserved in different schemes of MDA.
MDA schemes have created new inhabit trends. Now the great city of Karachi is expanding across both national & superhighway and recent Government are interested towards these area has shown to accelerated development trend and the market value of estate & property has increase manifold in these vicinities, overall these vicinities shaping the new Urban area of Karachi where MDA Schemes (Shah Latif town, New Malir Housing Scheme & Taiser Town) Commercial sites play as a new urban commercial and economic hub.
